Mozart Week

Salzburg is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and since 1956 has been the site of the world’s leading Mozart festival. Mozart Week, which takes place around Mozart’s birthday on January 27, attracts Mozart lovers as well as renowned artists and musicians from all over the world to wintery Salzburg and is an integral part of the Salzburg Festival.

All Mozart, All Week Long

As the name of Mozart Week denotes, the Mozarteum Festival, organized by the International Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, focuses exclusively on the works of Mozart,

with a different musical focus each year. The program includes around 50 events, including scenic stage projects, opera performances, orchestral concerts, and chamber music.
